Creative Design
3M is in the process of implementing a new framework for the creation, maintenance and publishing of all 3M web sites in addition to revised design guidelines based on user feedback.
The Occupational Health & Environmental Safety business will be one of the first business units to develop sites in the new framework. To support this implementation a new creative design was required to bring the sites in line with the latest corporate guidelines and ensure that the sites effectively position and market the Occupational Health & Environmental Safety product offering.
This project included creative design and consultancy on the development of an information architecture that worked globally, across the US and Europe. The sites need to maintain a level of consistency in creative design to provide a cohesive approach whilst allowing for local customisation.
MarketingNet worked with both regions to form a cohesive design brief and information architecture that was consistent but allowed flexibility at a local level.
The creative designs provided highlighted key brand values and focused on helping users achieve primary goals online with easy access to product and where to buy information. MarketingNet developed concepts for a worldwide page, US homepage and UK homepage for Occupational Health & Environmental Safety.
The designs were then translated into HTML for delivery to the client. Throughout this project, MarketingNet liaised with corporate, IT and business contacts in Europe and the US.
The new designs are now ready for implementation and have received positive feedback internally, both in the US and Europe.
